  WHAT’S NEXT?

Yesterday it was water rising in Bellevue, Ohio. Today it’s ground sinking in Daisetta, Texas. Now the question: Do you know what’s under your feet?

No, I don’t, and until recently I hadn’t given much thought to it. But, since I don’t have a way to find out, except past experience, I’ll just not worry about it.

I’m reminded of the children’s song, “The wise man built his house upon the rock.” Today’s version: “The wise man built his mortgage on the rock.”

Rising water, sinking land, adjustable mortgages…what next?

How about this: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5).
